Giangiorgio Crisponi 477 Posted December 16, 2019 The thief is always in action. (Ardea cinerea). It is easier to try to steal the prey captured by another than to try to capture it by itself. Nikon D850, Sigma supertele 300-800 mm, f / 8, 1/1000 sec, ISO 2200. Thanks for your comments Link to comment
pablowarko 1 Posted December 16, 2019 Looks like the race is on to see if the bird in front keeps the dinner or if the other one gets the dinner, Giangiorgio. It must take a long time to catch a fish. Excellent timing and presentation. Best regards, Paul. Link to comment

vincentoiseau 83 Posted December 17, 2019 Hi Giangiorgio, a very well taken photo from the 'ladri di pesci' series. Stealing prey is very common amongst these birds, certainly these grey herons; they do not know any shame. I suspect you shot this image at a pretty high ISO, because it looks grainy. However the action and composition are, as always, very good! Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
Giangiorgio Crisponi 477 Posted December 18, 2019 Thank you Vincent for your precise comments, in fact as indicated I had to use ISO 2200 due to the low light of dawn Link to comment
