All insects, and for that matter all living beings, have their own pattern of behavior that you can observe and then plan how take a photo of them. Getting a Bombylius species like this is not that difficult because they tend to hover over flowers in one spot for 2-4 seconds then move, and then hover again. This gives you a reasonable chance.
