Bear's breeches

Acanthus mollis, commonly known as bear's breeches, is a herbaceous perennial plant. The shape of the Acanthus leaf inspired the ancient Greek sculptor Callimachus to model the crown of the Corinthian column.

This plant grows in my grandchildren's school and I explained to them how well you wrote in the description. One day the teacher was surprised when she asked if anyone knew this plant and they gave the right answer together with the story, ciao Giangiorgio
