Giangiorgio Crisponi 471 Posted June 17, 2019 Beautiful photo of parakeet in flight. These birds are also invading the parks of Cagliari, ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
bernath 2 Posted June 17, 2019 Thank you, Giangiorgio. In Rome, there are many Alexandrine parakeet and monk parakeet. This is the first time that I have seen a green parakeet (Psittacara holochlorus), although, I am not even sure about its identity. It is also possible this specimen only escaped from someone. Mrcreem 141 Posted June 18, 2019 I love this photograph! Probably, in part, because I so rarely see this bird in full flight! Thank you for sharing this with us. All my best, Mitch Link to comment

Todd Kraenzel 1 Posted June 21, 2019 Beautiful capture Sandor! We call them Blue Crowned Conures, my brother-in-law had one as a pet for many years. In San Francisco there are flocks of dozens of conures of various varieties that started as escapees. The climate is perfect for them there, and there are just not enough falcons and hawks to keep their population in check. Warmest regards, Todd Link to comment
bernath 2 Posted June 21, 2019 Thank you, Todd. The shot was taken in Rome, Italy. While there are many Alexandrine parakeets and monk parakeets here, this was the first time I saw this species. Maybe, it is also an escapee now, and later, who knows... Kind regards, Sandor Link to comment
