tai 3 Posted May 29, 2019 Wonderful abstract puzzle, Jack! Beautifully done, interesting PP! It is perceived as a glance at a cafe window in raindrops, plus a reflection picture and a picture behind glass ... The blue pattern makes an allusion to some noise spectral images. Perhaps there is also the sound of rain. Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana Link to comment

michaellinder 16,611 Posted May 29, 2019 Spectral, indeed, Jack. I see the aether rising above the table; only photographic deities like you are allowed to breathe this purest of air. What an amazing find. The large number of white specks as well as the "aether" contrast well with the dark background, giving the image its haunting atmosphere. Another favorite. Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted May 29, 2019 Hi Jack, this looks as a picture of another reality, yet is a fully objective visual truth. Your title strongly suggests an unearthly quality of this scene and our eyes are ready to see just that, proving how easily our minds are susceptible to suggestion. It is a strange looking scene and you have made the most out of it with your highly developed photographic eye. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment

Jack McRitchie 150 Posted June 1, 2019 Tatiana, Franz, Michael, Vincent, ZT, Phillip - Thank you for your comments. Sometimes you find yourself searching high and low for pictures and the search seems to get in the way of the seeing. Other times, for some unknown reason, a picture just appears before you fully formed. That was the case in this instance. Vincent, I fully agree with you about the suggestibility of the human animal. That's why I often title my pictures; because I want them seen a certain way. Some people think that the pictures should speak for themselves but really they have no voice nor objective meaning. We see them through the prism of our own programs and predilections. But I've found in some cases it's useful to subtly point the viewer in a direction I'd like them to go. Link to comment
DGorinstein 20 Posted June 1, 2019 Wow....another enigmatic magnet, and your usual riddles. The kernel more or less well defined, but the peel so unfathomable, all to produce an absolute dream piece. DG Link to comment
