michaellinder 16,611 Posted February 1, 2019 I like this one a lot, Jack. The shadows are compelling, as is the geometry. To me, the image without the bottom of the vehicle would have been fascinating enough, but its presence adds a bit of mystery. Link to comment
wolfgangarnold 142 Posted February 1, 2019 In the galactic chaos of our world every now and then islands of order and beauty emerge - usually they disappear unnoticed, unless you come along and snatch them out of the merciless stream of time. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted February 1, 2019 Michael, Franz - Thanks for the comment. I'm quite aware that this picture isn't to everyone's taste. Glad you liked it. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted February 1, 2019 Wolfgang - If I ever actually finish that book I've been contemplating and sporadically working on for years, I'd very much like to use your beautifully phrased and insightful comment. That just about sums up things for me. Link to comment
wolfgangarnold 142 Posted February 2, 2019 Many thanks for your reply - it would be an honor to me to appear in your unfinished work - your photo inspired my comment :-) Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted February 2, 2019 Hi Jack, there is a lot of order and rule here, where one would expect merely random forms of appearance. Your photo seems almost calculated, which probably means your understanding of composition, but above all balance, is well-developed. Wolfgang's comment is really well expressed indeed, it's all about being there and capturing the moments that define the essence of what goes on. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
setsail728 15 Posted February 3, 2019 Shadows always make strong statements in photos. The patterns between the shadows and those of the road are wonderful! Link to comment
mark_q 0 Posted May 11, 2019 Jack, you were there at the just right moment to capture this gem. EDIT: I just happened to read previous comments and had to say I really look forward to your book, something I have wanted from you in many years. Will that be published as on-demand book... we'll see... Link to comment
