Roadside Abstract

I like this one a lot, Jack. The shadows are compelling, as is the geometry. To me, the image without the bottom of the vehicle would have been fascinating enough, but its presence adds a bit of mystery.

Wolfgang - If I ever actually finish that book I've been contemplating and sporadically working on for years, I'd very much like to use your beautifully phrased and insightful comment. That just about sums up things for me.

there is a lot of order and rule here, where one would expect merely random forms of appearance. Your photo seems almost calculated, which probably means your understanding of composition, but above all balance, is well-developed. Shadows always make strong statements in photos. The patterns between the shadows and those of the road are wonderful!
