I think B & W was definitely the right choice for this one. The bright winter light can almost be felt by the viewer and the earthy foreground adds to the intense sense of being there. Nice work Michael!

Good shot, Michael. For me it's the half-obscured structure in the back with its strong horizontal that really distinguishes this picture. It seems to be right at home in this setting while at the same time standing apart giving it just a hint of incongruity.

Jack, what you noticed in the background is the remains of a wooden railroad trestle. Glad you connected with the image.
