Jack McRitchie 150 Posted June 24, 2018 I've always been a fan of off beat pictures and "alternative" compositions that few would consider worth photographing. Obviously, you saw the possibilities here and gave us an intriguing (at least for me) "between the frames" view. I think we always have to challenge our default view of things which is learned and hardens over time, to kind of turn things on its ear to meet the world anew. A lot of people seen to strive for objective photo purity in their search for the holy grail - clearer, sharper, more perfectly composed. On the other hand, my view is always more subjective, to try to view the world outside of personal stereotypes and programmed perceptions and see things as if for the first time. Obviously I'm not successful all that often but that still remains the goal. Link to comment
tai 3 Posted June 25, 2018 It's hard to add to Jack's comment, Michael! Bravo! Sincerely, Tatiana Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted July 1, 2018 Jack, describing me as trying to turn things on their ear is a huge compliment, simply because this characterizes most of your work. My goal was to portray what happens between acts at a music club and to emphasize that I shot the photo in a blues club. Many thanks. Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted July 1, 2018 Indeed, Tatiana, Jack often is a tough act to follow. I'm grateful, though, for your acknowledgment, - - michael Link to comment
