In a centuries-old area of Pisa, Italy, the Guelph Tower along the northern bank of the Arno river appeared to me far away in both space and time.

You've captured the essence and a mood Wayne. The pp work renders this to a more simple form and I think it helps the image, though I'm sure the original is excellent as well! Very enjoyable, and a little different from the others ( landscape vs. people)...............Best Always, Holger

The "painting" effect sometimes work for me and sometimes doesn't. Here I think it work very well without imposing on the basic composition. This is helped by the expanse of sky, nicely textured, that sets off the forms of the building and landscape.

Thanks, Jack. Excellent analysis. Being in love with both painting and photography I am constantly straddling that line be realism and abstraction. Some scenes seem to dictate on which side of the divide to fall.
