Mr-Majestic 2 (Click for larger View)

This is a very similar image to the first Mr Majestic, but I noticed that

in this shot his eyes are wide open and he is looking directly at me. A

tiny improvement perhaps. Your thoughts and comments are always

Yep, I'll agree, the more alert expression and the tighter crop moves this one up a notch.  FYI:  Just downloaded a new Lee Childs book for the remainder of the holidays (Night School) ;-)... Mike

Fabulous expression!  His erect, majestic head and his intent, open eyes, atop a thick, muscular neck and heavy, strong, body in an unflinching stance, state quite clearly that this is HIS domain and that you are the interloper ... 'Be VERY careful! - I'm watching you!' 

The sharpness of the subject and the foreground - lightly easing to a softer, slightly hazy background make him even more impressive, if that's at all possible!

A perfect image for advertising 'The Highlands of Scotland.'  Wonderful capture!

You really do achieve some superb animal shots ... but then you show remarkable skill and patience throughout your range of work.

I zoomed in slightly for this one, the last one being 80 mm and this one being 90 mm.

Ahhh snap! I have this book in hardback courtesy of Mrs Santa Bailey :)

But it will be a while before I make a start reading it. I have a few others, albeit from different authors awaiting reading.

I was fairly close to this guy, but I don't think I would want to get any closer.  They are extremely powerful and agile creatures. Whilst I was there I saw one clear one of the so-called "Deer Fences"  from a standing start, which must have been over 10ft high!

I am not sure I would have the patience of some nature photographers, sitting in a hide all day freezing, although I did once hide by the river bank and get eaten alive by midges.....but even that was only for 1 hour :)

Hi Alf, I have to say that I like both captures in equal measure - In both the Stag is looking away into the distance and seems unaware of you which is what makes both these captures so impressive! I will be in the market for a new camera next year and will definitely be studying yours! having said that it is the person behind the camera which makes the magic happen. Happy New Year. The eyes really do make a difference Alf.  Funny we can see one of these magnificent creatures with one expression and we are still 'awed', yet amazing how his eyes looking at you makes all the difference  in the world. Mind you , the other shot is a very fine capture as well.
