Hi Bela,

Thank you kindly for the appreciation of the image. This lighthouse has a fine history over its relatively short life;built in 1856 and extended to its present height in 1903,it had a few transformations at the top to accomodate its different lighting apparatus.In 1946,due to a ramping erosion of the tip of the island,it was moved inland some 200 ft to its actual position which is again threatened by erosion.In its basically original state,it is one of the oldest surviving lighthouses in the Gulf of St.Lawrence.As you note,it is anchored down by guy wires and I suspect that when it was moved inland in 1946,there might have been pre-occupations with the foundations as the island's peat moss marshes border the structure's location plus the fact that it is located in a wind intense corridor....but these are simply deductions on my part.
