Just being there must have brought joy to your senses, as indeed it does to mine looking at this image.

Excellent!

Jack, Alf and Mike(MLM) - Thanks. I often get angst once I have staked out a position wondering if there is a 'better' location close by. I stuck with this position from all fog and "no light' to when the fog had completely dissipated. What you see here was a fleeting moment that changed in about 2 or 3 minutes.  I had some others without that pink glow but I am pleased that I got this one.

The fog around here is quite mobile as pieces drift, covering and uncovering and while that provides photo ops re single shots, it can create challenges if you want a 7 image panorama.

I did try a panorama but the waves and the mobile fog does not allow me to create an image that is acceptable. Maybe I will see if it is possible to salvage it in January when it is really cold and I have more time to play on the computer.

Once the Postcard type light arrived I left this lake to explore River shots and reflections.

I guess it was kind of frosty when you took the photo. If it is what I believe, it is what we call frost smoke in my language. Don't know the English word for it. Very nice colours and composition.

I can see myself and my trusted Iroquois guide and me paddling our birch bark canoe slowly down this waterway, listening to the splash of beaver near shore and the caws of ravens in the distance. So evocative is this. Glad you are an early riser Tony. Before the sun burns off the hazy morning dew.

Tony yes, gorgeous view- and seems you   enjoyed it- we would call that steam from the warm water rising into the cold air- or  mist.

Madeleine - thanks. It has been a while since I heard from you and I still remember your connection with St. Catherine QC

Eystein & Patsy - I appreciate you kind words.

Gerry - it has also been a while and you paint a wonderful description with words. I must learn to write like you. Getting up early is not easy but the potential for scenes like is always there. Another photographer who used this location recently had such a colorful sky with fog that it gives me the motivation to return until I hit 'pay dirt'.

Gregory & Verena - you visit and kind words are also appreciated.
