Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted October 9, 2016 Large view preferred. This my first attempt at photographing stars. I was trying for a milky way capture. The exposure was 30 seconds. It was about 8:00 P.M., well after sunset. Your comments on how I could have gotten the milky way effect would be appreciated. Is it time of night that's critical or camera settings, etc? The image is on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Many thanks for your comments and help. Larry Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted October 9, 2016 It doesn't show your settings on here, but on the images I have seen of the milky way, the ISO has been cranked right up!I quite like that exploding star effect on this one! Best Regards Alf Link to comment
M_Lipakis 3 Posted October 10, 2016 It looks like a hole has been opened on the night sky (the moon?) and we can clearly see that in an other parallel universe it is day. I like it! Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted October 12, 2016 Alf, Thanks for your comment. My exposure was around 30 seconds, and the ISO was not up over 400. The exploding looking orb is the moon. When I took the image, there were only about two stars that were visible to the eye. Thanks again, Larry Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted October 12, 2016 Michail, Thanks for your comment and compliment. Yes the middle orb is the moon. I appreciate your visit. Larry Link to comment
