Not something that I would want to hang on my wall but amusing and thought provoking if one likes to study compositional elements. A very good composition in capturing this. Also that was a clever fellow who saw the opportunity to add a thought balloon to liven up a commonplace scene.

Like Wayne, this made me laugh and I am not quite sure why! Is it the drawing on the door that looks like a comic cartoon text box or is it a hat that rose due to a hot head? (*_*). Listening to a macabre instrumental version of the beatles song Michelle on Classique FM herein Montreal did not help!

Jack, can you give us a little cultural background. What's the reason behind these two eyed garbage cans, that is, besides giving you a whole alien race to infiltrate?

This one made me smiling, a good way to start the day, I had my daily morning routines here, sipping some coffee and browsed top rated photos, then I looked for the critique forum, didn't see anything I wanted to take a closer look. Then I thought I should check if Jack has some new photos and I found this...and this is superb!

I was introducing an artist friend of mine to photonet yesterday afternoon, and we were skimming down through the critique page. She suddenly stopped and said “whoa! look at that!” --and this was the photo. What grabbed both of us about it was that it is not only delightfully whimsical, but that it is also so beautifully put together. The unsaturated colors really make the saturated protagonist glow (I can’t help but anthropomorphize here), and the angular background lines so effectively contrast with the more organic curves of the mutterer and the mutterings. It had us both laughing in delighted admiration.

Thanks for commenting on this picture. I think my little friend there touched a common chord. Most of us identify with or at least recognize his frustration. It's the price we pay for the dubious convenience of living in a big city. Better to laugh at it than surrender what few threads of sanity we have left.
