I like the leisurely pose of the man against the backdrop of the weathered

wall. With the people inside, it also shows two different worlds.

I also have a BW version of the image in the same directory and it has it's

charm. However I think color does add to this shot instead of taking away

from it. So decided to retain the color version. Let me know your thoughts.

Thank you.

From a technical point of view I see this as a remarkable image: light and sharpness are handled in a superb way as the level of detail that the viewer can get is truly impressive. As for the composition, it may work as the representation of the excluded ones (in this case due to disability) left alone to the rough world against the back of the ones allowed to get into some confort that the system still provides. I may prefer the b&w version as it somehow reinforces this interpretation.

Holger,

Thanks very much for your positive comment.

Ricardo,

Thank you for your insightful narrative. I see your comment very much in line with my two world view. The poor lonely man left outside, while the privileged ones are granted entry. Thank you for comparing with the BW version as well.

Wonderful. The textured and painterly wall is one the key elements for me. Combine that with the leisurely recline of the man and you have a winner.

Tony,

Thank you. To me, the historic, and partly peaceful and relaxing atmosphere of this place was in perfect agreement with this man's pose. So I stopped by to capture it.
