I was not too sure this image would turn out well in Black and White -

Flowers and Insects are a bit different, at least to me in this regard.

Perhaps as I become more experienced with Black and White my

thoughts will change. I did like how this image has a very 'Peaceful

Mood' for me. I hope you enjoy it as well. I could have done a more

aggressive crop on the left side but I ended up choosing this one. :)

I like this very much.  Everything looks delicate.  The crop is nice too.  I love the petals and the tones of the petals and the whole position of the bee on that fluffy food of the flower's center, the bee's wings, so gossamer.

thanks so much for stopping by Emmanuel. I do have another version of this image with a much tighter crop and flipped horizontal in my 2014/2013 Digital Alterations Folder.  I may try this in color again - and post it soon. Thanks for the input - I was just trying to see if it was possible to achieve a subdued 'nature/flower/insect/' composition. It actually printed out nice.  Perhaps I should have tried it with Selective Colour too ? Might try that - at least there is always room for change and improvement. Thanks so much for your input and help :) appreciate it so much, Gail

Thanks so much for sharing what you liked in this image - I think we are on the same page - but I will try doing it differently as suggested just to see if it looks a lot better. Black and white is such a 'mystery' to me. Perhaps I should have had more contrast?? But I am like you - I liked the demure nature of this edit. :) thanks for your visit my friend.

thank you each one for your thoughts shared. Everyone seems to be of the same opinion amongst you - colour or black and white.  Good food for thought - many thanks for your visits.

I usually don't care for b x w when photographing flowers but some how it seems to work with this image!

An excellent composition, perfect  b&w processing and a very  nice  close-up image of a bee and  the flower. I like it  very much. Bravo.

I was really not sure of trying BW but went ahead and I think it worked because the flower was lighter and then there was some dappled light below, :) glad you liked this one!
