A few years back I had a folder with some images from Docville,

Newcastle, Ontario. They go back to 2009. Docville started with an

old farmhouse (circa 1848) that a fellow named Steve Holliday

decided to buy. He had in mind to make a replica Old West Town

like the ones he always saw in the movies as he grew up. While

working on his 'dream' he decided to research his Family Tree and

find out that he is a blood relative of Doc Holliday. With all the

upgrades and finishing that he has done, it has become a prime

location for Movies. It is used as a Movie Set - a place one can book

for special occasions (Weddings etc.) and with the Museum, Quilt

Shop and Antique Store - all kinds of folks find there way there. The

Saloon truly looks like it is right out of the movies. Hoping to go back

this summer but in the meantime I am reworking some of those

images seeing as I've learned a bit more about Photoshop.

Oh great, an old Italian barbershop. An attractive image with a slight touch of HDR. When I look at the quality of the bank outside I think there have been waiting a lot of people outside. May I conclude with a 6.

Best regards,

Herman

Hi Patsy - back in 2009 there was not a lot on the insides of the buildings - but from the Website info that I just saw the other night - most of the interiors are finished.  Steve (Doc) Holliday - scoured the countryside searching out antiques and nic nacs of that era.  I know I will enjoy seeing it all when I do get there.

It is an old replica of an Old Western Town - image taken in 2009 but much work has gone into making this a very popular location for Movies Sets, Weddings and any occasion they can accommodate.  I really enjoyed taking images there, but I will enjoy going back now that it is a much more complete 'Wild West Town'. Thanks so much for your visit Herman.

I love brick only without facade objects and especially when the object has some style and history, Gail!

Well done indeed!

Cheers
