Wayne Sadler 570 Posted July 15, 2016 The ordinary becomes extraordinary when an artist (some times a photographer, most often a great painter) sees its inner character, its special karma, its inextricable place in a vast unity and expresses that “seeing” with a painting or photograph. In such paintings - photographs - works of art, details vanish, objects bleed into others and what remains is a unified design where all elements have their own song or rhythm yet come together in one magnificent symphony. This scene of an older woman on her rooftop home in Florence, Italy meant very little to me at the time I photographed it and for years I put it aside feeling it had little artistic value; then I digitally painted it. Comments and critique appreciated. Link to comment
harlequin 0 Posted July 15, 2016 Interesting treatment almost makes it look like a reflection. For me it is a little too dark around the edges and some of the detail is getting lost. It wouldn't take a lot to pull that up just a little. Nice basic image. Thank you for all of your recent comments. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 570 Posted July 15, 2016 Thanks, Charles. I felt vignetting helped focus attention. Link to comment

Wayne Sadler 570 Posted July 15, 2016 Many thanks, Patsy and Charles. Good word "heavy", Charles. I think my feelings toward this scene is kind of heavy and dreary. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 570 Posted August 17, 2016 Thanks, Gail. This felt better as a "painting". Link to comment
