I do not think it's a successful portrait, if you might allowed me to say, there is a least minimum details, the outline of the face is not continuous to define the face, and the light is acting as a bad distraction.

Superbly done, a truly magnificent shot Sweid.  Love the outline and retention of the essential. A masterpiece, bravo.

I agree with all of Saad's reasonings, but not with his conclusion. If it was any other subject, I would have agreed that this is probably a bit too obscure. However human eyes are very good in figuring out facial features even with the least possible clues. This fact actually works very well in this image and makes this image more interesting, successfully minimalistic and mystical. Even with the little facial area that is visible, I can imagine her mood, serenity and calmness, with a bit of melancholy as I presume. I could be wrong in my interpretation, and that also works in favor of the image. I would call such work successful if it enables the viewers to see their own perspective rather than imposing something definitive on them every time.

Thank you a lot for your sincerity, this is an unpretentious take trying to out stand a subtle profile of a young girl. Of course if I could be a better photographer for sure the final result would be much better, but I'm resigned, I only have what I can! :-)  Thanks again.

I'm so glad with your encouraging words, you know, this image could be full of defects, never the less I love it because of the meanings, the unbeatable power of beauty and youth. Like always. My gratitude again.

Me too, I agree with the technical issues pointed by Saad, but my intentions wasn't aimed to the photo rules purity but to the emotional impact. Imagination is a powerful tool, the evident isn't always necessary, I think, sometimes the mystery is the key. Thank you very much for your time and your insightful comment on this humble work.

You know, I don't have the talent enough (like you have) neither the opportunities or the access to models with the necessary character or acceptance, so, I must work with the few elements that I get at the moment. Her eyelashes were suddenly profiled against the background lights, then I shoot. I'm a lucky man. Thanks a lot for your visit and your words!
