Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted May 2, 2016 Larger view preferred. Photographing up here in the high elevation of the páramo was difficult because of the haze. I think that the angle and layer of mountains makes this image interesting. The plants on the diagonal line are frailejones. Please critique thanks. Larry Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted May 2, 2016 I think this image has a great deal of mood and atmosphere, thanks to your ability to capture the misty backdrop and resisting the temptation to add too much contrast. The diagonal split makes it interesting and gives a direct comparison from the gritty foreground to the subtle shades amongst the mist. I like it! Best Regards Alf Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted May 2, 2016 I second the motion Larry, I agree the haze works for you. Viewed larger you can get an appreciation of the size and distance this image covers. Well done.Best Regards, Holger Link to comment

Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted May 3, 2016 Alf, Thanks for your compliments. My take on this image is exactly the same as yours. It was difficult to capture due bad weather conditions and a lack of time, as I was rushed by our guide for the day. Many thanks. Larry Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted May 3, 2016 Holger, I appreciate your many visits. Colombia is a warm tropical country, but the weather up here was in the 30's or low 40's F. Our guide and driver were dressed in full winter attire, coats, hats, and gloves. I hope that at least one of my Colombia images communicates that Colombia is a wonderful country that is safe and exciting to visit. Thanks. Larry Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted May 3, 2016 Patsy, Thanks for your visits. You should consider putting Colombia on your travel agenda. It's a terrific country and is reasonable inexpensive by US standards. Larry Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted May 3, 2016 I could not say it any better than Alf. I will add that I would have come away with at least 5 different shots. I see some abstract telephoto opportunities in the distance but mostly to the left. Lovely composition and great atmospheric conditions. Link to comment

Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted May 5, 2016 Hi Tony, Thanks for your visit and positive review. Alf has an amazing talent and ability to be right on in critiquing images. Given the lack of time I had and weather conditions, I was lucky to capture this. Our guide was really cold and eager to move us along. Larry Link to comment
