Jim_Dockery_Photos 2 Posted April 30, 2016 Thanks for the comments everyone. I can't believe I've never driven over there after 20 years back in Washington. No climbing or skiing I guess (I tend to be single minded!). Photographer's paradise though - Steptoe Butte is like being in a stable plane with a 360 degree view. I really appreciated my new Tamron 150-600mm that allowed me to zoom in on interesting abstract elements of the landscape from up there. Link to comment

DavidTriplett 12,682 Posted April 30, 2016 Jim; Wonderful colors and textures. What I like most of all is the rendering of the giant ripples, remnants of the prehistoric mega-floods that washed over this region. I tried to capture these in my own trip, last summer, but this view is much more effective. If you haven't already done so, you should check out the history of the mega-floods, as the define the character of the whole region. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
