This is a shot from my new folder Just Frank Lloyd Wright -- Taliesin

West. The place is an active architecture school and community, but

the Wrights' living quarters have been preserved as a museum and

tours are available. Wright was very interested in light and shadow --

this is a set piece from his movie room, which he called his "Kiva",

and a place where he tested and showed innovative lighting

techniques.

C&C appreciated!

I love the effect of the light as it passes through the glass vessel and highlights the textures in the timbers beyond, beautiful!

I think a slightly higher camera position might be beneficial in separating the top of the vessel from the darker shadow area of the shelf.

Very well done!

Sandy; This is quintessential FLlW. Very nicely seen and captured. Perhaps not possible if you didn't have/weren't allowed a tripod, but I might have tried for a much deeper DoF. Wright was all about materiality, texture, and form, and the play of light with these essential elements. You captured this aesthetic nicely in this image. Well done.

David, thanks! I think tripods are not forbidden, just tactically impossible in a fast moving herd with a significant number of slow cell phone picture takers in front of things.  Mostly grab and run, having first visualized several quick shots that could be taken as a window of opportunity opened.
