Very strong separation created by the white stairs, between the dog's world and the outdoor world with the man in it. I do wish the dog is made more prominent, since it is an interesting element in an already interesting shot.

Interesting shot with the blocky house and its geometric lines, then the man gazing out to the mountain range. Yes, the dog is in a dark area, but well done.

This is an interesting image because of the interplay of the geometric shapes - the squares and rectangles of the blocks in the building, the door frame, and the zigzag stairs.  The white stairs give the illusion of the building being cut in two with sky showing through, especially at the triangular part at the top.  I like how that white triangle mimics the triangle of the roof overhang on the left side of the building.  The building, with its great tones and contrast and geometries, could stand alone and make a fine print.  It makes me ambivalent about the man, the dog, and the mountains in the background.

Thank you for sharing your photograph. I really enjoyed spending time studying this work and found it surprising. The white wooden staircase caught my eye and I followed it up, then down to the door and then over to the distant mountain. For some reason I then noticed the dog by the door and thought, "Hmm, it would be cool if the dog were sitting on the stoop at the base of the stairs." It was then that I suddenly noticed the guy sitting towards the bottom. Good grief! Perhaps it's just my old eyes. But he really does blend in with the wall. So, I found the contrast, the use of B&W and the "hidden" surprise delightful. Good work.
