Awesome!

I like how these intelligent dogs can be made to pose in such creative ways.

the eye glasses go very well with the face. She also has this diligent expression.

Nothing better than a classic book in front of the fireplace.  You did provide him a fireplace?!  A superb shot... Mike

I recently saw a photo of Winston in the September 2012 issue of Reader's Digest.  It's a small world!

I really like the concept of Winston reading a book.  You did a great job of staging it!

Thanks everybody.

Mike, the fireplace was about 10 feet in front of him, but no fire going. That might have made a cozier picture though.

David, yeah, I'll just have to judge where he is in the book when I tell him. I don't want to ruin the story for him with a spoiler.

Kathy, that was back when Reader's Digests were at all of the checkouts in the Walmarts and grocery stores. I can't tell you how many times I stood in lines just to buy one thing so I could show people standing next to me my picture. Totally kidding, but it was pretty cool.:)

Seven from me, pure perfection in all regards!

Old yeller is among the first films I ever saw!

Thank you, Pierre. One of the first films I ever saw too.:) Not perfection, because after going over all of the pics from this shoot again, I see 2-3 that are better than this one and it is really bothering me that I chose this one. Guess I was having an off day on picking the best. Now I'm thinking of just making an animated gif or video of 10-15 of them to show him reading over the pages.

Scott,

When I say perfection I mean no reproaches whatsoever from technical and aesthetic point of view! At least not at first glance!

This one should be maybe cropped from the right in order to satisfy the rule of composition which says to leave more place on the side on which the subject is turned to and not to be in the center exactly (two rules) and I, finding the cropping easiest thing to do, say "pure perfection" and mean it!

P.S. Cropping to the elbow suits perfectly the absolute meaning of the word (expression) pure perfection!

No wonder you have had so many comments, all of them very well deserved. A perfectly timed and conceived photograph of superb quality. Aside from it's friendly and humorous content, I believe that when an image captures the attention of viewers - as this one does - where there are literally billions of images out there, you definitely have a prize!
