The rider, whose clothing indicates he may be Bedouin, appears simply to be enjoying a ride through the desert, taking in that majestic sky at the very least. The other guy's facial expression seems to be one of intense anxiety, fear, or both. Perhaps his concern is that the Bedouin is about to discover that he drank from the tribe's well and, if so, that his life is in danger. More likely, he's experiencing the sort of fear that is common to a lot of people - being afraid of something unfamiliar, which he may not understand. Lots of material to feed my imagination . . .
