I love the mystical qualities of this shot.

The limited, stark colors--surprisingly cool-toned--work really well, and the bold dark shape has tremendous power, particularly as it continues into the shadow; and I love what you did with the sun. I'm guessing that you also shot frames with a vertical format to show more of the shadow--I'd love to see how they compare with this one. I'm fascinated by how the image conveys both a sense of desolation and a sense of resilience.
