Tony,

the simplicity of colors makes this an eye catcher. We have some interesting rock texture in warm brown, with green in the middle topped by the blue. The profile of the flowers that follows the rock texture lines also makes this a harmonious composition.

i just like it!

Hi Tony -

A wonderful glimpse into nature's tenacity, (and opportunism).

I would be tempted to "remove" the spider web as a compositional distraction, and perhaps clone out the bits of detritus as well.

I  do like the image very much - congrats!

Many thanks for your feedback which is appreciated. I visited to this private garden today. The owner is a member of a horticultural  Society and allowed the public to share a wondrous display. Tomorrow is the last day where it is open to the public and it won't happen again for another three years.  By the way, this is a tree trunk but it looks like stone.

I am pleased that you liked it. As much as possible, I try to leave the scene as untouched as much as possible. I could see myself cloning out some of the small specks but I would probably leave the web because:

it would be difficult to clone it out with my crude tool of a mouse and the other reason,

it lends a certain credence that this is not a 'studio' image.

All the very best,

Nice image, as are the others that you have attached. There i s avery interesting contrast in textures. I like it. With a little tweaking, imagination and effort this would also become a very sensual image. Well seen.

Nature is chaotic, often messy and disordered - we usually try hard to make some visual sense out of what we see, (and often fail).  I appreciate the desire to record only what is there - untouched and un-manipulated,  (I prefer this approach myself) - but if minor retouching further enhances our visual goal, I'm all for it.  I often think that the simpler a composition is, the stronger it becomes.

Just some rambling thoughts!

Charles - I am usually the first to see a sensual aspect to an image but you beat me to this one.  Thanks for highlighting it and making this public (*_*).

I, too, like the simplicity of the composition, as well as the natural look.  But dang, couldn't they find a smaller pot for that plant? ;-).... Mike

Very nice place for the plant to hide in safe! Looks very nice too, best possible environment for flower picture maybe!

Best regards, Tony!
