janinesl 1 Posted July 10, 2015 This is what a forest fire is doing to our beautiful pristine lake. The fire could have been put out the first day when it was first reported but action was slow in the making and now 6 days later has claimed more than 400 h of trees and property. Animals have been seen trying to escape and our beautiful lake is full of smoke, debris and ash. Please be careful around our beautiful forests as its so dry it doesn't take much to ignite a fire! janinesl 1 Posted July 10, 2015 I also want to say thank you to all the firefighters that are working so hard in this hot weather to put out this fire. Their job is a very difficult one! Janine Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted July 11, 2015 A fabulous but heartbreaking image. I cannot believe the Government allowed this to happen on Vancouver Island. The is no excuse for this kind of abuse to our land and lakes. I can almost feel your heartbreak. It must be awful to see animals trying to escape!!! They must be so frightened and confused. I really am sorry this has happened to you Janine, but to all of those on the Island. Thanks for the updates. The firefighters must be working nonstop. Link to comment
Giangiorgio Crisponi 477 Posted July 11, 2015 A beautiful picture depicting a terrible event such as the burning of forests, events very often caused by man that he takes advantage of the days of intense heat and with a lot of wind. Even on my island the Sardinia are quite frequent in this season and we have to fight them the Canadair that do a great job in a short time, ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
