I never imagined it would be such a 'race' Laurent. Of course I have never been in a 'fishing area' like this where it is one's 'life'. Thanks so much for sharing - I learned a very important lesson today!

This is an exciting scene;unfortunately,it last but a few minutes as these boats disappear in the horizon very quickly.Thank you for the appreciation.

Thank you for the appreciation.This is repeated every year on season opener;this year the fishermen were a bit on edge as the ice from our very cold winter had delayed the start by more than a week,so you can imagine their enthusiasm when they could finally put their boats in the water and look ahead at some revenues.Today,they returned with the fruit of their effort....and just in time for Mother's Day,a traditionnal treat for mothers here.I have included shots of the small feed we will share with my wife's Mom tomorrow.

From the ocean to the pot,this image is complete now and very good looking.I think that for those fishermen this is what they wait a whole winter and the competition is hard for sure.Is not an easy job and with lot of dangers,but this is there life from many years.

You are right on all counts.Now for the remainder of the season,things will be more normal with the boats leaving early every morning,most before sunrise and they will return at different time of the day depending on the distance to their fishing spot.Thank you for looking in and the fine observation.

Laurent;

There is nothing better than lobster and fish straight from the ocean to the pot. I'm getting hungry thinking of my upcoming trip to the Northeast USA to visit family. Oh, back to your photo. Fantastic composition. Good horizon. Where was this taken?

This is on Miscou Island in notheastern New Brunswick,a yearly show when the GO signal is given at 6h00 AM to kick off the lobster fishing season.The next day,we can feast on fresh lobster just out of icy waters.
