Now that signs of Spring are finally here, I cannot help but wonder

how many Bees will visit my Garden this year. I enjoy photographing

these 'chubby bees'. That is the name I use to identify them

whenever my husband alerts me to what activity is going on in the

Garden when I am busy with other things. I saw very few of these

fellows last summer. Hopefully we will see many species this

Summer - a sign that perhaps pesticides and other practices that are

killing off our bees are finally being addressed. (visits and your

thoughts expressed are always welcome, many thanks Gail:)

Each year the bees are less than before after what I saw and this is not at all a good sign.In the garden apricot and sour cherry trees are almost bloomed and no sign of this insects.Last year was very cold in Apr. and in summer we do no had a fruit from this trees.I like the way you worked this photo that gives an artistic feeling looking it and warm the soul.

a very good week to you Gail

Ah! The perfect vision after just waking up on a rainy, chilly morning! So inspiring too, after a difficult winter here in northeast USA. Thanks for this beautiful pick me up Gail!

This image is beautiful, Gail. I like the way you worked it, with interesting texture, (which seems to be a canvas), vibrant and beautiful colors, and of course, as the main protagonist, the bee.
Over here, we have bees throughout the year, as the temperature is always warm, not too cold, not too hot.

Warm Regards,

Rosario

I'm happy to hear you enjoyed this composition Rosario - it is a Canvas Texture.  How lovely it must be to live in a climate that is pretty well constant throughout the year. I never knew there was such a 'paradise' on earth!! I must admit I envy you having such lovely sunsets most of the time :)

Yes it was cold....we even had to turn on the furnace for a bit.  It poured down multiple times today.  But the rain will have cleaned off the streets and residue from the snow.  I imagine you are as tired of the cold as I am.  We did have some great days before this.  I hope you will soon be on the water, enjoying a good sail Warren....glad I could cheer you up!

we seem to have gone from Winter to Spring...it got quite warm, the trees seem to want to burst out in bloom....but it is colder again today with rain.  I know other insects help pollinate the trees, but I do hope you see bees soon!!! Over here, they have 'bought' bees to help in pollination. many thanks Radu for stopping by; always appreciate your thoughts shared.

Hi Gail, great to be back from a long PN hibernation, ( blame 7/7 work as always), and as an old tradition I start my photo wondering from your most recent posts. For many a reason this caught my attention for quite long-not just for its aesthetic merits .  First  thought : the title might as well refer to yourself , knowing you as a nature lover. As mentioned above, the dreadful decrease of bees numbers   does not seem to alert the global community as should. We'll surely pay a hefty price for it!  The applied editing with its painterly look is not deceiving. The painterly quality was obviously part of the initial take . I leave with this note my warmest regards and wishes for a great spring time!

Really great to hear from you Chris and to hear you enjoyed this composition.  I hope you haven't really been working THAT hard.  I know you have to do 'what you have to do', at least today in your economy.  Makes one wish for the days when we never really realized how good we had it???  I have thought of you often over the winter and wondered if you are taking many images.  I will write soon. Many thanks for the always 'cheerful notes' I find that you leave from time to time--sunshine in my day!

Thank you for those thoughts shared. I never thought about a Children's book. Children do enjoy stories about insects.  It printed out very well. I used it for my Grandaughter's birthday card and she enjoyed it very much....sincere thanks for your visit Chuck.
