The Flowering Maple, although no part of the 'Maple Family' is a

delicate and beautiful summer flower that is often grown on

a 'standard'. I have always loved them. Some have good fortune

growing them indoors as well. This image is combined with textures

and entered under Digital Alterations. (any thoughts shared or visits

are always welcome, kind regards, Gail :)

Well, I guess this picture is going to stick around this time. I'll simply repeat what I wrote the before: it looks like your grandmothery side peeking through, harking back to more peaceful and less complicated times.

Really has a lot of "mood" wrapped up in this photo. Takes me back to great grandma's early days. (And since I'm a grandpa, you know how far back that is!!)

Fantastic treatment emphasizing the beauty of that flower. I love the use of subdued colours and rich collodium like textures.

Sorry Jack, I no sooner posted the first one and saw that it was quite large, was worried that some would not appreciate being able to see it in full view on a smaller screen. Good to hear that you like this one.  It has a bit of a vintage feel to me.

I know what you mean Warren. It is like looking through old cards or photos that Granma had, sometimes ones in an old book that were favorites that were kept as bookmarks.  And yep, I'm a Granma so many times over.  I love finding little 'treasures' from the past, they seem to mean the most! Glad to hear you liked it Warren.

many thanks for those words of appreciation. It is not always easy-this process of arriving at a layered image that you are happy with. Sometimes it is a touch and go thing.  I worked on this one yesterday for quite a bit and then finished it this evening.

Gail, from thumbnail I knew that is your photo and this is very good, you have your own signature in way you did this composition(by the way,one day I must learn from you how to do this kind of bg).Is so good looking and for sure a picture on a wall will be looking so good.Flower petals look interesting with those veins but delicate same time,I like the composition and result with whole photo.

Gail, I get the same feeling I get with a lot of your images. They are artistic and wrapped with much love and emotion. Usually each one stands on its own merit but they all have that thread flowing through them. It's great to see you doing what you enjoy. The flower is beautiful and I like the background also.

Best Always,

Holger

I truly appreciate you visiting my images. You seem to 'understand' me so well. It is not often to hear someone open up and share what they 'see' in the person's work as you do. Many thanks for making my day!!!

It is so good to hear your appreciation of this composition.  I thought you would like it. It took a bit to arrive at the 'final' image, but I enjoyed the process. I am starting to go back to images that I had once wanted to process but not had any luck with at the time.  Maybe we are meant to wait.

Beautiful, humble, lovely, full of grace inside her petals, secrets that she try to keep and you discovered. Very artistic, congratulations Gail, well done.
