Christal1664882414 0 Posted January 28, 2015 As we were leaving the park this evening, there was this one small sliver of light shining on this log. It literally looked like it was on fire, especially the leaves beneath the log. This is straight from the camera with only a little contrast added. Link to comment
Tony Brandstetter 814 Posted January 28, 2015 Yes the light is a key factor in this project, of course the log is what catches our eyes but it how the light illuminates the trees in the back ground that keeps us here longer. Very nice observation in nature ~ Link to comment

Christal1664882414 0 Posted January 30, 2015 Tony.....yes, the smaller trees behind almost looked like they were on fire as well. It was really amazing light! Thanks so much for your visit and comment. Bill.....right timing....I'll say. I literally only got a couple of shots before the light disappeared. Thanks, as always! Mike, Since we've moved we now live close to this park. We bought a season pass so we can go frequently. I've been so busy at work and sitting WAY too much, so we decided to go there for a winter walk, and I was so glad we did. You don't see light like this very often. Thanks! Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted January 30, 2015 I sometimes think the best images are the ones that need the least processing, and this is just beautiful! The textures are almost tangible, the crunchy leaves and the warm light on the log bringing it all to life! Very well done! Alf Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted February 4, 2015 You're so right.....sometimes less is more. I wish they were all that way! Ha! Good to hear from you as always. I've been really busy, but will soon be retiring.....not divulging the date yet, but it will be soon. Then I hope to get a lot more involved with photography.....mine AND my friends. Thanks, Alf!
