Wayne Sadler 570 Posted December 2, 2014 I suspect many of us from more rural areas who have seen Central Park in New York city are surprised to find so much of it reminiscent of home – lakes, fields, forested areas and even areas designed with boulders and streams that transported me personally to areas in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. It is no wonder why New Yorkers love their park. Recently, as ever taller buildings have sprung up near the park, (evidently many were wrong in thinking the depth of the bedrock in that area is not suitable to support tall buildings and/or money talks) New Yorkers appear mixed in their reception of these buildings, but even more united in treasuring their oasis – Central Park. Comments and critique appreciated. Link to comment
charo 3 Posted December 2, 2014 I like the way you've composed this image with vegetation in the foreground, and the buildings in the background. Beautiful colors too. New Yorkers do well in preserving their oasis. As a child, I used to play in the Parque del Olivar, in Lima; although beautiful in its own way, very different from Central Park.Kind Regards,Rosario. Wayne Sadler 570 Posted December 3, 2014 Grigoriy,Thanks. Very perceptive. I was very selective in applying the painterly like quality to this image. Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 570 Posted December 3, 2014 Ruud,Thanks. The lighting took a little work. My buildings were in bright sunlight and the lower part in deep shadow. Link to comment
