Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted November 13, 2014 Large view available. I'll take the scenic highway over the Interstate whenever I can. The tiered colors on the hills ablaze in shades of yellow drove me to pull off on the shoulder to record this sight. The yellow line down the center of the road complements the trees and keeps the roadway a relevent element in this image. I would appreciate your thoughts as well as your preference of this image vs. the next. Thanks in advance for your time and interest. Larry Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted November 13, 2014 I love the fall colours and the mist creeping into the top right of the image, such a magical combination, it immediately evokes that damp autumnal atmosphere, my favourite time of year. I have to confess to not being a great admirer of roads in landscape images, paths and tracks seem ok to me, but highways always seem to conflict with nature (in my eyes of course). That being said the composition is spot on with the sweeping bend pulling the viewer into the scene. Compliments & Best Regards Alf Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted November 14, 2014 Hi Alf, Thanks for your visit and comment. I am not a fan of putting roads in images either, but this scene begged to be captured. I had no alternative,. The weather was bad with a drilling rain; the day had limited light left; and I had many miles to go to get to Redding, my destination before dark. Thanks, Alf - I always value your critiques.
