Artists' performances at festivals are quite unlike paid performances.

Music and dance are done in pride and celebration of heritage,

whatever and from wherever it might be. It is evident in the faces

and posture - closed -eyes, the barely discernable smiles, the

abandonment to the present. This image is of a member of the Nosu

Dance Group performing at the Nash, TN festival of cultures, Oct 4,

Nice work with lights and shadows.

The blue-violet colour of the kimono is very interesting and catches quickly our gaze. The truth is that all Japanese themes really interest me and their culture as well.

Thanks.  I am drawn to the Japanese culture also. The make-up allowed me the opportunity to push contrast and discover patterns in the image I didn't notice before.
