What a very thought provoking image. Composition is great and the detail throughout the tonal range is quite nice. The only nit I have would be the lens distortion, easily fixed though, I just find that on this particular image the distortion is a tad distracting. Even so, this is a great shot, well done.

Thank you. This place is a few hours drive from home and when I was approaching,I knew I would get it in the fog,but just in time as it was dissipating fast. The WA lense distortion is quite evident and although I rather like it,I understand it can be distracting;easy fix for some, but not for everyone as you know.Glad you still like.

A subject seen in other your photos but this is a very good example that each one can be very different. This moment caught in a foggy morning is excellent,I like the composition,I like the light.Concerning WA lenses I read some articles about this and opinions are divided almost equally, some people like as it is some not.Is very easy to correct if you want, but this will be your decision.

my best regards my friend

A very moody image, great lighting and tones. - the soft tones so complement the subject.  Compositionally, it is wonderful.  The stark white crosses in the graveyard pull the viewer's eye right into the image.  I am 50-50 on the lens distortion.

Thank you. This little church I do have in a few of my shots but mostly in afternoon;I was lucky to have the good morning light fot this one.As for the distortion,I know there are tools to correct this but,I must confess that I rather like this......maybe because it feels good to stray away from the obligation to have all structures plumb and straight as in my ''former life'' as an engineer with the only consequence being a low rate......but,I still appreciate this can be an irritant/a distraction to some.

I really like the soft color and lighting here although there's plenty of detail.  I have to agree with Craig and think less distortion would be more appealing.  I don't know what you think about artistic license with photographs, but I would consider taking out the distant power poles and buildings, just a thought.  Regardless, an excellent shot... There's something about the tranquility of this picture that I find very pleasing, almost comforting. I see by the comments that I'm not alone. As for the distortion discussion, this is fine by me just as it is. Very nice work, Laurent.

Thank you for looking in and for your valuable observation.I can only repeat that I appreciate that some,as you find the lense distortion distracting but also that I find it rather pleasing and often will position tall objects such as this church or a lighthouse near the edge of the frame to accentuate the lean....but that is a matter of taste. As for the distant powerpoles/houses etc...,I usually try to clone them out but chose to leave them in on this one as they contributed to enhance the density of the fog.

Thank you kindly;this was a good moment but the clouds/fog were lifting quicky due to the proximity of the high-cliff shoreline just behind me.I wish I could have stayed longer for a few more shots as the sky changed but I was rushing to a doctor's appointment.......maybe next time.

The experimenting with different kinds of lighting and time of the day and weather is very clever idea for this uniquely beautiful spectacle, Laurent!

You are so right in that a scenery such as this can change so quicky and dramatically based on the availability/direction of light at different time of the day.Given the time, one could spend a whole day on a site like this and seize some quality shots,but....Thank you for looking in and for the kind observation.

I didn't mean to start something with the WA lens issue :-)  I agree that straying from the straight lines is refreshing and maybe this would be an example of me needing to expand my horizons.  My personal "rule of thumb" is that if the subjects are further away I prefer more accurate vertical lines on buildings.  This is just my personal preference and as mentioned by others, everyone has their own opinions and preferences.  Nevertheless, you have an outstanding image here and I agree totally on how fun it can be to revisit places we've shot before because as we all know, the light is never the same and we will always see something different.  Congrats again on a great capture.

This WA lense is/has been a permanent fixture on my old D200 for a long time and it has generated some debate especially as it has this circ.polarizer glued to its front element which on top of inducing these extreme leans also causes noticeable banding in clear skies.I know full well that these features which do not bother me are really distracting, even downright irritant to some ......so I am very grateful that even with these weaknesses,I still get some positive responses such as yours to my images.

Bravo.  Not sure if I've ever seen fog done so well.  The power of the leading lines, even in he sky help take this to "7".  Congrats, Laurent.
