I absolutely love the way the natural light sculpts her form, and highlights her hair, so beautifully. Her pose is fabulous, especially the placement of her hands. There is a lovely, casual feel to the entire image, even though quite formal in composition.

...I'd have found the picture hanging on the wall behind the model's head annoying -- cluttering the composition and distracting from the model -- but the model is so mesmerizing it doesn't bother me when I'm merely a viewer.

I'd still crop on the left to get rid of the view of the other room; as is, I don't think it adds anything (with multiple exposures merged so that to have the same model sitting on the couch in the background it could be interesting.)

Thank you all for your visit.

Tomek, indeed I find that the vase in the picture frame is too close to the head, but too late for that now, otherwise it's just an indoor setting as opposed to a studio shot in which the model would probably look less relaxed sitting in this position. Many thanks for your input, much appreciated.

About technically I can't be sure, but it is because you act like a professional (upload small copies) and again, you are an amateur who makes pictures like a professional! This is my favorite sexy girl in a most attractive and cute pose surrounded by what I call perfect environment or sometimes fancy one!

Well done, my friend!

Best regards

P.S. The cropped one above me is maybe more perfect, though!

I love the relax and the haphazardness of her pose, and the expression tells me she's having fun in posing.

I like it very much, I wish it would be the same when I'm shooting :)

A yogini in a state of bliss... Most Marvelous!
Regarding the crop... I like the curtains but cropping out the room on the left but leaving the molding might be a good choice.

Mr. Peri

I Think your revision of the crop is the right choice for this portrait. As suggested in another critique the vase would be a distraction I would want out of there as traditional rules would suggest from photographer point of view. However, her stunning beauty and the PERFECT LIGHTING  no harsh shadows and the model looks to be relaxed and comfortable. I can see how that little detail would be missed. Photographers sometimes concentrate so hard on the subject we accidentally forget little details in the background. I would give this 6,25/6.5 out of 7.  NICE WORK MR.PERI

Many thanks for your contributions friends.

It was a hastily taken photo, we were talking.  Others that followed and were possibly better thought out were less spontaneous and did not have as much charm, for which all the credit must go to the model.

As regards the lighting, it came from the window to the right, daylight is often very subtle. Let us not forget however that photographers such as Man Ray and others have used harsh shadows with stunning effect. Sweid Sideris on PN also is a great manipulator of shadow .. http://photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=1029179

Many thanks Stephen, I appreciate that.  As I believe you know, I tend to favour leaving in the "clutter".

One reason undoubtedly is to preserve the context, another may well be a form of prudery, to release the model from being the sole focus of attention.
