Great shot Dave, caught in the act of feeding. Viewed larger you can see every spec of pollen and again the amazing eyes these creatures have. It's a good POV and the colors are great also.

Dave,

This is a great shot that shows lots of detail in the larger view.  Bravo.  BTW, just saw your comment in Site Help about critiques not showing up, so I want to see if this works.

Nice close-up. You might want to ease up on the sharpening a bit though. The flower petals especially seem a bit oversharpened. I know I have more than a couple images with the same issue. Just my 2¢.

Holger and Bill thanks for the feedback.

Siegfried, thanks for the observation and suggestion - very helpful feedback. Greatly appreciated.

Pierre, I think you could achieve this with your open aperture concept and some patience. This was taken in a butterfly exhibit. I doubt I would ever find this in the wild.

Patsy, I always find your images interesting and inspiring.

Impressive detail and colours, some people tend to employ a very shallow dof for macro images, shooting with the lens wide open although I am more in favour of seeing more depth across a wider span like this image.......all down to personal taste I suppose!

Very well done!

Alf, thanks for your comment. I tend to like the larger DOF as well. I also find it more challenging. I keep trying new ways to get it.
