dgv 1 Posted June 26, 2014 I put this in the fine art category because I think that's what it is. See what you think. Your opinions are welcomed. Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted June 26, 2014 Ahhhh, those daring young men (and women) in their flying trapeze. Nostalgic art for sure. Love it... Mike Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted June 26, 2014 The coloured smoke from previous displays was hanging in the air and when I saw this frame I processed it exactly as you described. I am glad you approved of my idea. and without wanting to boast this picture was entered last October in the first Cyprus international F.I.A.P., P.S.A. competition and it got an acceptance. There were 13500 entries in that competition from all over the world and the picture was entered in a tighter crop. Thank very much Mike!. Link to comment
trisha jean-angela 5 Posted June 26, 2014 Beautiful work! Reminds me of work of the artist Robert Taylor (that's high praise from me as I have purchased some of his books and paintings)! If you ever get the chance to attend one of his showings, please do - he is a warm and charming man. Thank you for sharing. :) Link to comment

dgv 1 Posted June 26, 2014 I am humbled by your comment and I must confess my ignorance as I did not know who Robert Tailor is, but I looked him up. You are right he is a great military artist. Thanks very much!. Link to comment
barbaracorvino 0 Posted June 26, 2014 Moody atmosphere, I like the post treatment that emphasizes the sky. Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted June 26, 2014 More than just a photograph, this really does ooze atmosphere. The colours are fantastic and the smoke adds great drama. But I can't help but wonder how much more atmosphere and perhaps nostalgia might be gleaned from a B & W version or perhaps sepia tone? Sincere Compliments! Alf Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted June 27, 2014 Beautiful artistic result with this image Dimitris!! This is so lovely!! I have a fondness for these old planes. This would look lovely framed!!! Link to comment
plewenthal 0 Posted June 27, 2014 Hi Dimitris,The lighting and the action really do add up to something bigger than either taken separately. Quite special. Congratulations on the recognition you've received for this one.P Link to comment

dgv 1 Posted June 29, 2014 Sincere thanks my friend!. As for your suggestion I tried similar photos in sepia tones but somehow it doesn't work for me..But I know exactly what you mean. When I saw this frame I immediately thought of a Turneresque look. Best regards. Link to comment

dgv 1 Posted June 29, 2014 First of all I would like to say a big thank you for your lovely comment. All the aircraft pictures are somewhat 'documentary' and is difficult to portray mood and atmosphere Once again many thanks!. Link to comment
