5.15 am and the light was already quite strong, the mist helped diffuse it

and no wind mean't there were some nice reflections......Midges get up

early in this part of the world.......and I was breakfast! Your thoughts and

comments are always appreciated. Thank You.

My favorite time of day, when one can feel one with nature in a very special way encouraged by the light and its dramatic mood...

Here we have those elements; the misty atmosphere that wonderful gentle reflection...the 'Light comes creeping' indeed!. It carries with it the promise of the new day. A very poetic composition and I like the panoramic crop and the gentle tones.

Regards my friend.

Good lines and the soft almost ghostly reflections are what I like about this image Alf. The mountains in the fog make a good background. A very serene and peaceful landscape Alf. I like it.

Best Always,

Holger

Nice scenery with a calming mood about it that you've captured here in your photograph!

I too like the early mornings and especially when the weather changes enough to create some light fog in the low areas.

The density of the fog here couldn't have been better! One can still see the distant landscape and yet the fog is blanketed just enough across the water and yet still leaves for the nice reflections of the distant shoreline trees and that cloud reflection in the lower right hand corner.

I can't tell what may be causing the light ripples in the foreground water but makes me wonder if you might have been in a boat. Regardless, the slight ripples add to the overall essence of the photograph!

I can just imagine this hanging on the Conference room wall of one of those upscale New York or London financial institutions.

Cheers & Regards always,

Jim j.

This picture is beautiful with a romantic feeling that I like. The panoramic format is perfect here, and the yellow color is attractive. Fog is what gives magic to the image.

Kind Regards,

Rosario.

What is dawn?  Can't say that I see if often ;-).  Of particular interest to me in this shot is the implied simplicity, you did well to limit our vision to just the main elements.  Very well done and worth the pint of blood loss.... Mike

Thank you so much for your kind words.  It is difficult to get any kind of decent landscape photograph midsummer because of the light intensity, but I was fortunate to encounter mist.

My favourite time of day also, But at this time of year the light becomes so bright so quickly. Just this morning I was up at 3.20 to get to my intended destination at 5.15 and I only succeeded in getting about 30 minutes before the brightness made everything look too glared, alas no mist this time : - )

On the image above I made the crop initially because there were jet trails in the sky, but then found I liked it that way : - )

Sincere Thanks my friend!

I love the way fog and mist transforms the landscape and adds mood and atmosphere. It also does a great job of diffusing harsh light.

Glad you liked this one Holger!

I agree, it certainly is the best time of the day!  Well worth losing bit of sleep for  : - )

Many Thanks Patsy!

The two things I love doing best involve getting up early, or staying up late, that is fishing and photography although fishing doesn't get much of a look in any more.

I was fortunate with the fog, it wasn't forecast by the meteorology office and even more fortunate as you observed that is was the right kind of density. The ripples were caused by me, but I wasn't in a boat I waded into the water to avoid getting the shoreline in the frame. Glad you think it adds to the scene though!

Sincere thanks for your eloquent and most complimentary feedback.

I agree it is the fog that adds atmosphere to the scene. The panoramic crop was made because of jet trails in the sky, but I must confess it seems to work.

Sincere Thanks!

Dawn is that time of day when your snores drown out the dawn chorus :- )

I had three lakes to visit and hoped to get misty shots on all three, and I did manage it, the last one though was subject to wind, but all in all not  a bad mornings work....of course I'll be scratching for a week with all the bites : - )

Many Thanks Mike!

A wonderful image Alf, full of atmosphere. I love dawn too, you often get usually crowded places all to yourself and the quality of light can be outstanding - as you have shown here.

Many Thanks for your thoughts and kind words.

Nothing quite like the light of dawn, but this time of year it gets to be so early!  Roll on winter when I can have a lie in and still catch the dawn : - )

I am grateful to see another of your landscape masterpieces.  This one joins the rest of your work in terms of its quality.

Fog always compliments an early morning or late afternoon, as you well know. I'd guess it's early morning here.  So the fog and the hint of sunlight it mutes herald mysteriously and sensitively the beginning of a new day.  I love how the mountains in the background are barely visible, and how you've captured the exceptionally peaceful character of the water.

Always a pleasure,

michael

Many Thanks for your most generous comments!

The dawn of a new day, a lake with still water, and a blanket of mist in a beautiful country, to be greeted by all this I feel I am truly blessed!

In fact I was blessed by this in three locations in one glorious "good to be alive" morning.

Best Regards

On days like this, this old body stays in bed, but I'm delighted to see you youngsters still have the passion for a great early morning shot.

The accolades are already posted so I will just add mine by saying... "outstanding image".

Congrats my friend.

Best regards

Good to hear from you my friend!

"Youngsters"? (looks around suspiciously : - )

This old body creaks and groans with reluctance to leave it's warm bed, but thoughts of a new dawn and a new day that awaits spurs it on to overcome that temptation to turn over and go back to sleep : - )

Thank you for your most generous comments!

Best Regards
