dgv 1 Posted June 17, 2014 Last month I went with a friend to a nature reserve and we had a wonderful time..The title of the picture is 'The lone shooter', I was there too:-). We first went to a hide that the king fishers were nesting alas the were too far. Towards the end of the day though we went to another hide from which you can view black nose seagulls mainly. There we took some decent enough shots. Link to comment

alfbailey 3 Posted June 17, 2014 It''s a great photo, and serves as another example of the photographer being the one that takes the photograph and not the camera. It reminds me of the few times I have visited similar hides and sat there for 15 - 20 minutes before I have thought "what the hell am I doing here" before moving on. Invariably the hides I have visited you need a telescope to see any bird life....or perhaps they just knew I was coming : - )But hats off to the guys that sit it out and wait.......you have caught the mood brilliantly! Best Regards My Friend! Alf Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted June 18, 2014 ''A camera didn't make a great picture any more than a typewriter wrote a great novel" ...The words you used and you are absolutely right..-:) I appreciate your comment and your visit. You spoke about the action being very far from the hide you visited, it is true but these hides are mainly for bird watchers with binoculars.. Take care Alf and thanks. Link to comment
