The old iconic buildings of Liverpool (Liver Buildings) reflected in the

windows of it's modern counterparts at Sunset. Your thoughts and

comments are always welcome. Thank You.

Well seen Alf, what a great reflection, and it comes with its own frame. Unique and outside the box presentation my friend.

Best Always,

Holger

I must admit that, at first, the image didn't match the author ;-).  The thoughtful presentation, the attention to detail and the perfect color do match.  I wonder why the architect beveled one side of the window and not the other?  If to arouse curiosity, I guess it worked....  Mike

Very well seen and captured.  The structure adds a lot of character to the sub-image with it's framing.  The high altitude pom-pom like clouds make a great background as well.  I really like it.  Best regards...

Hi Alf. I've always liked pictures where we can see reflections: show us a distorted reality that sometimes is more beautiful than the real one.  In  this case the image has a surreal and abstract feeling that I really like. The colors and the beautiful sunset (or sunrise) help reinforce this. Nice work!

Kind Regards,

Rosario.

The way the modern  building is designed , it kind of looks like a giant TV screen. The little excursion to my home city was a refreshing change.

Thank you so much for your kind words.

No I agree Mike, not my usual "cup of tea" but a change is as good as a rest so they say : - )

I can't be certain about any of the Architects motives relating to design or indeed if he had any.  The truth is I really don't like the modern building in such close proximity to the amazing and beautiful classic architecture we have in the city, but I can't blame the architects for that, it is the responsibility of the planning department to ensure the aesthetic views are not compromised................unfortunately I think they have failed!

Sincere Thanks for your thoughtful comments  Mike!

It has been a long time, but finally I am getting my life back into some kind of order, and have a little more time to spend on photography.

I was also attracted by those clouds, it give the image an airy kind of feel.

Thank you so much for stopping by to comment, much appreciated!

I am also a great fan of reflections, and sometimes the reflections themselves can take on their own identity as you have described.

It does have a surreal kind of feel, the modem architecture accentuates this too.

Sincere Thanks for your thoughtful feedback, much appreciated!

It's good to get back out with a camera in my hands, and a trip to the city made for a pleasant change.  I also managed to get out again this weekend and took a few images at 5.00 am in the early morning mist.

Many Thanks for your thoughtful comments!

The turquoise and white sky above and the darker blue sky with angry clouds in the reflections and the precise geometry of the building's surface and the more varied structures of the church - all of this, guided by your incredible craft and creativity makes for a museum piece.  You never cease to amaze me.

My best always,

michael

My sincere thanks for your thoughts and astute comments!

The reflection is not a church, although it does look like one in the reflection. It is in fact probably the most famous landmark in the city of Liverpool, the Liver Buildings. The Modern building is one of the new museums that was built in close proximity to the older buildings.  It is interesting to read your observations as you have outlined the moody sky in the reflection is as much of a contrast to the fluffy clouds as the modern building is to the Liver Buildings.

A very different composition for you, almost surreal , I would say that the perspective works for me and I love the combination of colours, they are very refreshing. A picture within a picture...excellent Alf. Very well done!

Thanks for the clarification, Alf.  I apologize for my woeful ignorance concerning your incredibly fascinating country.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments.  I agree it does look surreal, almost like some kind of elaborate TV that has been erected in the sky.

Best Regards my friend!

No apologies needed!

It's impossible to recognise buildings from every major city in the world, and lets face it on photo.net I think we must get most of them posted here : - )

Best Regards
