alfbailey 3 Posted June 2, 2014 Got to love the colour of those fluffy chicks and their two x two procession. The sharpness is better defined when viewed larger and the detail becomes much more apparent. The balance of the image is also to be admired, nothing too central, or contrived and at the same time natural looking. The image lacks the humour and animation of your last posting (which I like very much) but it compensates to some degree with the "family values" kind of atmosphere. Nice work Len! LenMarriott 9 Posted June 3, 2014 Yes, this one is plain vanilla as nature shots go, perhaps even a cliche'. But I thought the content was worth a frame or two. I toyed with cropping out the RH goose but it's inclusion was necessary to complete the depiction of 'family' as these geese mate for life I'm told. My grandson and I followed this militaristic troop on land for a few yards until they, constantly looking back to see we weren't getting too close, found access to the water. No award winner but a reward for the effort. Always good to get your take on things photographic. Best, LM. Link to comment

LenMarriott 9 Posted June 3, 2014 Thanks for taking the time to register your thoughts on this one. It's one keeper from a recent outing to this nature preserve. Best, LM. Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted June 3, 2014 Hi Len, I like how the parents are looking off to the right, making sure there are no threats to their young. The details are better viewed larger as Alf mentioned. A nice follow up image to the honking ( and don't come back) image.Best,Holger Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted June 3, 2014 These goslings are what the honking geese were protecting. Both the adults keep an eye out for any threats. That's one of the reasons I cropped the shot the way I did. Thanks for your views. Best, LM. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 264 Posted June 7, 2014 How cute spectacle, the whole family goes to pick-nick, ha! The column of the yellowish ones is unforgettable! Well pictured, Len! Bravo! Best regards PDE Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted June 7, 2014 Right place, right time! This is the best, I believe, of a short series I took of this family. Sometimes you see an event unfolding and if you are prepared to capture it your reward is a treat. Thanks for your thoughts. Best, LM, Link to comment
