Astounding image. The underexposed quality gives this photograph all of the atmosphere of another time in a very exotic place. Although not particulary fond of large framing (my personal taste), the framing you have used provides more depth. Just out of curiosity, you might try eliminating the white frame and leaving the crop as is. All with due respect, as I do admire this photo.

The oblique carpet lines against the imposed vertical make for a unique feel.  The larger view confirms the merits of the tonal values.  A difficult image done extremely well.  Congrats, Dominic.
