I've been busy deleting useless files from my External Hard Drive,

attempting not to become an IMAGE HOARDER :) I discovered a

File of images I took last July of a Ladybug whose patience I'm sure I

exhausted while attempting to get a few shots is focus. Sometimes it

would just be still and at times it obviously was trying to ESCAPE.

This was one of those. I had set up a Clematis bud and a few leaves

on my Patio Table under our Gazebo and then added my Ladybug. I

often wonder what my dog, Abbey thinks as I talk away to these

insects. She seems quite happy to keep me company. She actually

had discovered the Ladybug moving along one of the boards on the

deck. I rescued my 'Lady' before Abbey tried to have a 'taste'. The

bright colours cheered me up as I have been contemplating the

6inches of snow we are to receive overnight :( I REALLY AM TIRED

OF ALL THE SNOW!!!! (any visits are always appreciated, hoping

not many of you are getting snow tonight!!! sincere regards, Gail)

I was curious when I saw this photo how you did it with f2.8 when focus did on subject has maximum 1-2mm of clarity I think, but after I saw the original I understood.I like the front of bug  clear as it is and nice blur bg and fg result.

my best regards

Hi Gail,  The lady bug is alive in your picture,

Take care and keep warm.  I'll be leaving Arizona soon to head up to Calgary for a new grandchild and then to Winnipeg to brave the last bit of cold weather.

This really is a first rate macro shot and it looks like you were driving Lady bug up the wall literally : - )

Great focus and colours!

Hope the snow doesn't outstay it's welcome for too long!

Compliments & Best Regards

I saw your image and got excited, thinking that the Lady woke up already. But now, how could she if tomorrow there will be -10 in Toronto with wind chill up to -20. At your place it will be snowing probably. No end to it... But I found a Lady bug today on my window sill. It was asleep in the middle of a dry geranium leaf... I tried to work with it too... Funny, it looks like there's some connection...

I hope you are well and I wish you the best. Tamara

Excellent combination of fine details and areas of pure colours - graphically flawless image!

Hi Gail, yes it helps sometimes to have a fresh view on your older work. This is a clear example here, Beautiful image with a sharp control of DOF, the result is great, well done!

Take care,

Patrick

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this one Patrick, I have so many images to go through. But that is what we do when it is so cold out!

Yes so cold. Actually I found a Ladybug on the rug the other day, Abbey was trying to eat it!! Things could be worse than the cold with hearing about that mudslide in Washington State. :( Thanks for asking about me, I hope we 'all' will see better weather soon.

what can you do??? but grin and bear it!!! :) Gail

My sincere thanks each one. I don't know why I forgot this file. There are a lot of different shots of this one. I finally 'set it free' after about an hour or so!!!
