I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with someone whom I

now consider a good friend and who is a member of PN - Luisa

DaSilva. We arranged to meet at Butterfly World in Coconut Creek.

Luisa visits this beautiful place quite often. However, this was my first

time. One of the most beautiful areas of this place is where the

Passion Flowers are grown. Passiflora serves as the caterpillar food

source for many of the world's most beautiful butterflies. Because of

the tie between these plants and the butterflies, Butterfly World has

amassed one of the largest collections of flowering Passion Vines in

the world. Luisa and I enjoyed a time of quiet conversation and of

complete 'wonder' as we walked beneath these beautiful vines. I can

think of no better place to get to know my PN Friend better, share

photography information and attempt to capture a few beautiful

images. (This image is digitally altered with a couple of layers, soft

texture and blending modes used. Your visits and comments are

always welcomed. My sincere thanks, Gail)

First I thought it is some sea plant,or something like this.I bet the time spent there with Luisa was excellent. This flower is a very special one indeed and is not at all easy to shot it.Lot of shapes and colors that delight the eyes,I know it very well. The way you present this is interesting and gives another dimension to it.

my best regards as always

Very nice. I like how you chose to process this and the orientation of the flower too. It is original and pretty.

Flower photography for me has to be one of the most difficult genres to master, simply because it is so difficult to come up with new and interesting ways to present them.  Yet, you do this time and again, and make it all look so effortless. I particularly like this side on view, it's not only beautiful but it's different and I do like "different"

Compliments & Best Regards

Hi Bill, there were some varieties that stood out like this, and other were more spread out. Perhaps this was one that was newly 'hatched'!!!

Pleased that you enjoyed this one. I could have presented it on the Horizontal but it wasn't nearly as lovely. Well, I may not be very good at Landscapes yet, but I seem to enjoy working with flowers. I never tire of them. Always enjoy the thoughts you share Alf.

Hope work is slowing down for you a bit. kind regards, Gail
