nature Cardinal before the Storm

Caught this shot before the storm, the little guy puffed in a thicket

facing another cold snap and approaching snow storm here in the

Northeast. Winter seems to be relentless this year. A lot of times my

shots like this are not that great, but the lines seemed to work

creating an interesting composition. This was probably one of the best

images from that afternoon from an unlikely shot. I was pleasantly

surprised how it came out. I hope you like the image. Comments welcome

At first I was thinking why not a tight crop but then, even with this composition that vertical branch and the lower branch are framing the most distinct parts of the Cardinal and IMO makes this work well!

Thanks, Jim. It's different and I haven't cropped a bird this tight before that I can remember. Got to keep trying new stuff.
