Whenever I cannot go outside to take images, I often will set up

some of the things I love best, and practice taking images. This

image was taken in May of 2012. It was a rainy day and I thought I'd

try to take some images inside with available light coming from a

nearby window and lights that were on in the room. I did not have an

external flash back then. I am reading about how to do Still Life

Images, there is so much to choose from. This is one area of

Photography I can do when the Weather is not good, and while

Winter seems to want to hang on, I hope to get some done in the

next few weeks. While I was not so pleased with the lighting in this

image last year, I saw it and decided to see what I could come up

with. While all the items in the image are dear to me, the Glass

Lantern and Candle Holder (to the left under a Perfume Bottle) were

given to me by my Mom and Dad. Good memories. (any comments

or visits are always welcome, :) Gail)

This image has in bw an interesting oldness touch that I like and this from processing you did. What I think that imo is not necessary to be there are those labels, maybe I don't understand there significance and has a meaning.

my best wishes for this first of March

Lovely still very well composed with great PP. I would love to see this pic with the same PP but with just a touch of colours. Great work Gail.

Take care.

Gail,

Textures, layer upon layer of textures. While the meld into one, I still see their individuality. nicely done. Thanks for this one.

As has already been said, . . . many wonderful textures and patterns throughout your image here!

The lighting and processing gives the image the impression of a well executed Charcoal or Pencil work of art!

Cheers always,

Jim j.

Great vintage image, although not interested in crystal I like it very much for the good old movies feeling to it! Great still life, Gail, bravo!

Best regards

This image gives you a meaningful, secondary way of remembering your parents.  These amazing objects go first, of course.

Your B&W rendering is technically and aesthetically flawless, in my opinion.  Yet I wonder whether the color original might be more suitable for expressing yours feelings in this instance.  In any case, it's a matter for you to ponder.

My best always,

michael
