He looks very sad,  lost and alone in the world and the darkness seems to emphasise this. 

An unusual image, but very emotive and thought provoking.

Thanks for the comment. That was what I thought but my wife keeps telling me its a demonic & possessed piglet. I prefer your critique.

I'm sorry I'm so late commenting on this one Rick. It is the 'light' of course that is so key in this composition. This sweet little face emerging from the darkness. Your intent worked out well here Rick. Beautiful!
