I set out to combine a few images, but started with the Image of the

Bee on the Liatris Flower. I had hoped to give the final image the

look of a painting on Canvas. It is sometimes more difficult that one

would think. We are waiting for yet another Winter Storm, and the

thought of it, as the wind howls outside of my Office window, has

been rather depressing. More than anything, I wanted to remind

myself of the warmer weather ahead when I can enjoy beautiful

sunny days exploring the garden, while the insects sing their

welcome melodies. (hoping some of you are enjoying Warmer

Climates!!! any visits and all input is appreciated, Gail)

Good post-processing, Gail.  February has been cold (and even a couple of snow storms), but the last couple of days temps have been in the 80's.  I am so ready for Spring, and your image reminds of the days ahead.

This one made me smile. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for collage. The juxtaposition of images sometimes causes the rational part of the mind to short-circuit and it's a relief to be able free oneself from that left brain tyranny if only for an instant. Of course, in cases like this, execution is 90% of the work and you've pulled that off brilliantly as well.

I am so glad to hear that you are getting back to the temperatures that you are more used to. While we are used to Winter and Snow, it has been a bit much. Just heard on the Weather that by tomorrow afternoons we will be having very strong winds, possibly a mix of snow/freezing rain/rain depending on the temperature. As the night continues it will turn to freezing rain, and any moisture that will have fallen will turn to ICE. My husband worked this afternoon making sure all the 'gutters' from the house were clear, cleared pathways on the road for the rain to drain farther out into the street (we are on a Court) and of course made sure the Generator was working and did a small repair on the snow blower. The Weather network is saying the next couple of days will be Brutal. Thanks for dropping by and letting me know it is definitely warmer in Austin. I really enjoyed your last 2 hotel images. What a lovely place to visit!!!

kind regards, Gail

Well, I think I just learned something about my 'left brain'. (and that is good) While I am interested in all things Medical, that is one I have missed. Mind you, I just taped a BBC Program on my DVR called 'The Brain - A Secret History'. I just looked it up and found out there are 3 parts. But the one I taped centered on emotion. I've watched some of it, but am anxious to finish it. If our Cable stays on, perhaps I will watch it while the next Storm rages tomorrow :). Thank you for those encouraging words Jack. I always enjoy your comments, even reading the replies you have to folks following your images. I always learn so much. I had the intent of hopefully making an image that would be 'peaceful' for the mind.

I hope you didn't get the really big 'dump' of snow that I saw on the news!!! sincere regards, Gail

Hi Gail,

This is a wonderful and evocative collection of images beautifully arranged. Each has its place of equal importance. Although the swan may be muted (no pun intended) it still retains its place through the fabulous light on the wake and its placement in the scene. I also find the colors very rich. I don't think this is a color scheme that would necessarily be an obvious choice, but it works so well!

Gail, this is a lovely and very well-balanced photo montage. I like the choice and placement of the individual photos, the fine color tones and the painterly texture. I wish the weather in North America gets better soon. In Crete in daytime we got more than 20 degrees centigrade. Since I work in the afternoon, I spend all my mornings at the beach, sunbathing, swimming and taking photos. This year's winter has been extremely mild up to now with temperatures rarely falling below 10. Having all these economical difficulties and earthquakes here in Greece, at least we got good weather...

I think you accomplished your goal. It is a beautiful rendering of the three images and it does inspire thoughts of the coming warmer weather - it may be a few weeks though. Best wishes.

Sorry Gail! I wanted to rate this creation with 7 but I was informed  that you have given me 3 times 7 during the last week, so I wasn't allowed to do that.

Please accept my sincere gratitude for your generous ratings!

Best regards/Sadegh

I am so fond of excellence in Photography, and it is so difficult to peruse your images and not rate them as they are 'due'. You are a constant source of inspiration for me, sincere thanks for these lovely words and your visit Sadegh.

Wishing you the Best Always, Gail
